Blur, SudoSwap, and Other Marketplaces in Sewer Pass Mint are Blacklisted by Yuga Labs

Blur, SudoSwap, and Other Marketplaces in Sewer Pass Mint are Blacklisted by Yuga Labs WikiBit 2023-01-19 15:58

Yuga Labs blacklisted at least 4 marketplaces that don't charge NFT charges in its most latest NFT drop, Sewer Pass.

In its most recent NFT drop, Sewer Pass, Yuga Labs blacklisted at least four markets that don't require NFT fees.

Simon Cousaert, Director of Data at The Block Research, claims that Sewer Pass has code that prevents NFT transfers from purses owned by Blur, SudoSwap, LooksRare, and NFTX. NFTX, SudoSwap, and LooksRare all have optional royalty systems, whereas Blur and NFTX choose not to.

This action is the most recent shot in the ongoing conflict over NFT royalties. Yuga Labs joins other NFT creators in prohibiting royalty-evading venues from doing business with their NFTs by adding those marketplaces to a blacklist.

A second NFT market with optional fees, X2Y2, was prohibited by QQL in September from handling the QQL Mint Pass NFT drop. “When someone else can select where you will move your NFT, you are not the true owners anymore,” X2Y2 said in response to the blacklisting.

One hour after its inception, Sewer Pass generated $1.3 million in trading volume, and just four hours later, it had gathered approximately $5 million in ETH.

What is Yuga Lab?

Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow, two friends, are the creators of Yuga Labs. The dynamic team agreed to conceal their identities until early this year, as per BuzzFeed News. The apes, the logo, and other elements were initially created by Solano, Aronow, and two other friends in collaboration with a team of artists. They all have different backgrounds and have been real-life buddies since the beginning.

Yuga Labs was founded by two friends, Greg Solano and Wylie Aronow. According to BuzzFeed News, the collective decided to keep their names a secret until the beginning of this year. In the beginning, Solano, Aronow, and two other pals worked with a group of artists to create the apes, the logo, and other components. They have all come from various backgrounds and have been friends in real life since the start.

On March 12th, 2022, Yuga Labs announced the acquisition of CryptoPunks and Meebits from Larva Labs, breaking Twitter. The agreement grants Yuga Labs ownership of the brands, artistic copyrights, and other intellectual property for the two collections. Additionally, 423 CryptoPunks and 1711 Meebits were sent to the business.

The business now effectively possesses the two biggest NFT collections on the planet as a result of this transaction. If you missed it, the CryptoPunks collection is one of the early illustrations of an Ethereum NFT and was a major influence on the development of the contemporary CryptoArt trend.
