Amazon NFT Marketplace Launch Delayed

Amazon's NFT marketplace launch has been pushed back to May, delaying its original launch date of April 24th. The Amazon Digital Marketplace will initially be available to US customers and will eventually roll out to other countries. This delay follows a previous postponement in late 2022 due to market challenges following the FTX exchange collapse in November of that year.

It has been reported that the company will also offer perks and merchandise for sale, rather than just the main NFT collections.

NFT Purchasing and Reselling Without Crypto Payments

Despite the potential impact of the Amazon Digital Marketplace launch on Web3 mass adoption, the platform will not accept cryptocurrency payments for NFTs. Instead, it will operate on a private blockchain accessible through the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” tab on Amazon's website.
