Mailchimp has disclosed that they were the target of a breach that gave Yuga Labs' account access. The NFTs itself, however, are secure, according to Yuga Labs.

A recent statistics hack at email marketing and platform Mailchimp resulted in the account of Yuga Labs being compromised. On January 19, a tweet about the incident was sent by the well-known NFT firm, which also runs Bored Ape Yacht Club, Meebits, CryptoPunks, and other websites.

Yuga Labs acknowledged that it had only sometimes and “for limited purposes” was using the services, but out of an abundance of caution, it wanted to share the data. There is no evidence that any data was transferred, although they did state that “an unauthorized actor may have accessed data in our account.”

Additionally, Yuga Labs disclosed that the Mailchimp account's data only came from a small-scale email campaign. It was unrelated to the actual minting of NFTs.

The business informed the neighborhood that they would only get in touch with pertinent people using a Yuga Labs email account if they thought their data had been affected. They highlighted the need for consumers to utilize caution.

Mailchimp was hacked (Again)

The compromise was discovered by Mailchimp security to have happened on January 11. It started acting shortly after and informed people impacted the next day. Numerous customers were impacted in total.

Mailchimp has been compromised before; in fact, this is the second time in the last six months. The accounts that were impacted primarily dealt with bitcoin and finance the first time around, when the attacker gained access using social engineering.
