Thanks to the PayPal link, MetaMask users will have a simple and convenient way to purchase cryptocurrencies. This functionality is presently only accessible to a select group of MetaMask users in the United States, but it will shortly be given access to all customers.

ConsenSys, a developer of the Web3 ecosystem and a leader in blockchain engineering, declared on December 14 that they had partnered with PayPal to offer users of MetaMask a new method for buying cryptocurrencies.

The users of MetaMask will have an easy and practical way to buy cryptocurrency thanks to the PayPal connection. This feature will soon be made available to all clients and is currently only offered to a restricted group of MetaMask users in the United States.

As the initial Web3 wallet to use PayPal and ensure effective on-ramp transactions, MetaMask is also made possible by this. Keep in mind that MetaMask presently only permits the buying of Ethereum through the PayPal interface (ETH).

One of the most well-liked self-custody wallets amongst cryptocurrency users is MetaMask. Additionally, it enables the interaction of millions of crypto enthusiasts with applications like Play and Earn, NFT markets, DeFi programs, and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).

Through the MetaMask mobile app, the supplier of crypto digital wallets is currently looking to increase and broaden the transaction possibilities. Product Manager for MetaMask Lorenzo Santos contributed the following in response to the growing:

“This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S. users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem.”

MestaMask users previously voiced their dissatisfaction with ConsenSys' privacy policy. This occurred after ConsenSys acknowledged that their on-chain wallet system does indeed gather customer data.

ConsenSys introduces zkEVM

The zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) network was released by ConsenSys the previous day for closed beta testing. Developers then would be able to use tools like MetaMask, Truffle, and Infura to immediately install and maintain their decentralized applications.

Furthermore, this improvement will make it simpler for programmers to test creative smart contracts and DApps by connecting assets between zkEVM and the Goerli testnet. ConsenSys commented on the findings by saying:

“Testnet participants can also bridge tokens, transfer tokens, and interact with deployed dApps listed on our upcoming ecosystem portal page. We intend to learn whether the developer experience of the zkEVM has the potential to accelerate innovation in Web3 and will be evaluating feedback from the community to inform our next step.”

Customers of MetaMask can now buy cryptocurrency inside the software using PayPal, according to CoinGape.
